| Castle Kennedy Show 12th August 2007 Castle Kennedy is a great event with the Private Driving classes and a variety of other classes also the country fair running alongside the HDT event it makes it a great event to compete at. Sadly the numbers were slightly down in the Private Driving classes this year but the event was still well supported and there was plenty of variety in the classes. Well-known judge Jane MacInnes was judging the classes she found her Private Driving winner in Elma Ball's 10-year-old Shetland Pony Roose of Thanet who was also reserve champion. In the ever popular Exercise class Kirsty Barr's Clydesdale Askival Monty took the honours and was also Champion winning the The Hurstwood Trophy. Congratulations to Kirsty and Askival Monty! As always it is great to see junior whips competing and Charlotte Young driving her lovely mule Small Person took the honours in this class! David Ivison Driving Wellbrow Samuel won the Pleasure Driving class and was presented with the Cairnpat Trophy; Anne Baillie driving Tango won the Concours d'Elegance class that was kindly judged by the artist Trevor Taylor who left his trade stand to judge the class. A big thank you to Mr Taylor. With the different breeds in the ring it showed clearly that carriage driving is a sport open to all equines and all are welcomed by the BDS. The final line up was a triumph for Scottish breeds with Askival Monty the Clydesdale winning overall champion and Roose of Thanet the Shetland pony being reserve. Well done to all winners unfortunately I was unable to attend Castle Kennedy this year so a big thank you to Jane the secretary for providing me with the information for this report.
