Dundonald Show - 26th April 2008

Another year and the start of a new season. For some competitors Kilmaurs Show last weekend was their first event, which was well supported with being a new show on the driving calendar. The day started quite miserably with wind and rain but by the afternoon the sun came out so we all stayed dry a pleasant change from last years season.

The private driving class saw a slight decrease in numbers this year but was still well support with 4 turnouts of exceptional quality. The exercise class was well supported also with 4 entries, most competitors rounded the day of with the cones, which as always was an exciting finale to the driving classes.

The Judge on the day was our Chairman John Cowdery he found his private driving winner in Ella McNinch’s immaculately presented Vimpenny Lucky Strike who also qualified for the Osborne Refrigerators championships another Osborne qualifier was Sheila McNeil driving her lovely cob Rigmaiden Simply Red.

Zan Kirk driving Rhoson Amigo had a very successful day winning the exercise class then going on to win the cones.

John found his Champion in Vimpenny Lucky Strike driven by Ella and reserve went to last year’s champion Wilstrop Cracker Jack driven by Alan Ewing. Congratulations to all winners!

There were extra prizes this year kindly donated by aggreko some nice treats for both drivers and horses.

We wish everyone a safe and fun season happy driving!
