Fife Show - 17th May 2008 |
The day stared out wet and miserable and I am sure that everyone thought that we were going to experience weather like last year fortunately, though the sun did decide to come thorough for us it was bitterly cold but at least it stayed dry. Our Chairman John Cowdery was our judge today and Elinor Steven provided a very informative commentary for the spectators. There were a good number of entries forward this year and as always it was great to see some new faces to the arena one being Kim Petrie driving her lovely grey miniature Shetland Moorfoot Coty L’Aimant who came second in the exercise class the winner of the exercise class was Jackie Lammie driving his welsh cob Pentrepoid Callan. It was also good to see competitors from further a field today Ruth Skinner and Kirsty Mann both driving their Clydesdale horses. The under 13.2hh class saw a drop in numbers this year the winner of the class was last years winner Barry Cork driving Maesgywn Hilltopper. Barry also went on to win the overall championship. Congratulations Barry! The over 13.2hh class was won by Ronald Forgan driving his welsh cob Boleyn Clarence. Ronald was also reserve champion. Congratulations to all winners and keep supporting your local shows.
