Dumfries Area Club Driving Show - 5th June 2008 |
Another new event on this years calendar and what a fantastic evening it was although it did start to hail before the first class then a down pour with some added thunder it soon cleared up and we enjoyed a lovely evening. There was plenty of classes open for everyone sadly there wasn’t a great number of competitors at the event but those who did attend were all of a very high standard and thoroughly enjoyed their evening competition. We did have a great number of spectators in the form of sheep something different and I think they enjoyed watching the show. Our judges on the evening were Ann Varley and Mike Clark. The first class to be held was the Private Driving class, which was won by Kim Pearson-Miller driving JD’s El Diablo. The Exercise class was well supported with three entrants forward and the winner of this class was Barbara Patterson. Jodie Standring won the Novice whip class and Janette Watson won the Novice horse class. A class that proved to be very popular was the pleasure driving class that saw all entrants forward this was a very enjoyable class and did test the whips ability Barbara Patterson was the winner of this class. Throughout the evening there was a pleasure drive and cones, which the competitors were able to do at any time again this was most enjoyable. The evening was rounded of with a lovely show supper a great end to a fantastic evening. Our thanks go to Ann Varley and the Dumfries area for organising such a wonderful event hopefully this event will be held again next year and will see an increase in entries and to those who came to the event thank you for supporting your local event without you we wouldn’t have events to attend.
