Whitehall Cup Rules
WHITEHALL CUP RULES AND SCORING (Revised 2003)
- Only fully paid up members of the BDS on the date of the Show are eligible for the Whitehall Cup.
- Area Commissioners can nominate one unaffiliated show each year in their Area to count for points towards the Whitehall Cup.
- Only classes at BDS affiliated shows or those nominated by an Area Commissioner will count towards the Whitehall Cup.
- The Whitehall cup is for single turnouts.
- All turnouts must be accompanied by a groom, who must be seated during the cones.
- Only Open Classes will gain Whitehall Cup points. If classes are split with regard to height then all classes will gain points.
- Points will be awarded to each turnout i.e. the same combination of driver and horse or pony.
- Points will be awarded with 6 for first place down to 1 for sixth place. The placings and points are irrespective of whether or not competitors placed above or below are BDS members or driving turnouts ineligible for the Whitehall Cup.
- There will be two trophies presented - one for the turnout with the most points for private driving classes and the other for the most points in Exercise Vehicle classes.
- The final results will be announced and trophies presented at the BDS Scottish Branch AGM.
