Whitehall Cup Rules

WHITEHALL CUP RULES AND SCORING (Revised 2003)

  1. Only fully paid up members of the BDS on the date of the Show are eligible for the Whitehall Cup.
  2. Area Commissioners can nominate one unaffiliated show each year in their Area to count for points towards the Whitehall Cup.
  3. Only classes at BDS affiliated shows or those nominated by an Area Commissioner will count towards the Whitehall Cup.
  4. The Whitehall cup is for single turnouts.
  5. All turnouts must be accompanied by a groom, who must be seated during the cones.
  6. Only Open Classes will gain Whitehall Cup points. If classes are split with regard to height then all classes will gain points.
  7. Points will be awarded to each turnout i.e. the same combination of driver and horse or pony.
  8. Points will be awarded with 6 for first place down to 1 for sixth place. The placings and points are irrespective of whether or not competitors placed above or below are BDS members or driving turnouts ineligible for the Whitehall Cup.
  9. There will be two trophies presented - one for the turnout with the most points for private driving classes and the other for the most points in Exercise Vehicle classes.
  10. The final results will be announced and trophies presented at the BDS Scottish Branch AGM.
